KSOP (AM)

KSOP (1370 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Classic Country format. Licensed to South Salt Lake, Utah, USA, the station serves the Salt Lake City area. The station is currently owned by Ksop, Inc.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=KSOP Facility Record )
The station was founded in 1955 by Henry Hilton, a Utah native who had worked in other local radio stations before founding this independent business.〔(Utah Broadcast Businessman Happy Hank Hilton Passes Away, Deseret News, 7 January 2011 ): Hank" Hilton, a Utah radio pioneer who spent more than five decades building a strong legacy of love and passion for country music, died on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, due to injuries sustained in a car crash. Hilton was born August 1, 1925; married Luana Winn (1945) at SLC (3 children). Hilton was also a successful concert promoter, bringing legends such as Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, The Oak Ridge Boys, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Chris LeDoux and Garth Brooks to SLC. In 2003 Hilton was inducted into the Utah Broadcaster's Hall of Fame.〕
==History==
Both KSOP AM and FM have broadcast country music since their first air dates. KSOP AM came on air in 1955 and was initially operated during the day only. Today the Hilton family continues operating KSOP AM and FM. Its studios are located near Redwood Road in Salt Lake City, while its transmitter site is west of downtown.〔(Broadcast History - Salt Lake Radio )〕
